So I have to say that I’ve found a new love: the Fitbit Alta. But before I get too into that, I have to do a bit of catch up on where I’ve been with my weight loss goals. Unfortunately, the answer to that is: Nowhere.
After a little while of trying to get back on track at the start of the year, I’d had a little success back in February. And then the Gasparilla race weekend happened. I had challenged myself to complete 3 of the scheduled races – a 15k, a 5k, and a half marathon – in one weekend. That should have been great for my weight loss, right? A calorie burning dream! But no. Instead I gained weight after it that I couldn’t lose so I found myself almost entirely back to where I had started last May.
Enter the Fitbit Alta. When I originally started this blog my goal was to be pretty close to my ideal weight by the time my next birthday came around. Well, my birthday is in May and I can pretty much guarantee that’s not going to happen. But I’ve been looking at Fitbits for a while so my amazing husband bought this for me to help encourage me to keep pushing toward my goal.
At some point in the future I’ll have to explain why I love this tracker so much but for now, suffice it to say that it has renewed my enthusiasm for getting healthy. In my first week of having it I lost 5 pounds and I’m already back to “feeling” healthy even if I still have a long road to travel. It’s going to be a fun journey! 😄
