As of this weekend, my third half marathon is officially done. Woohoo!
I’m so excited to have another one under my belt, although this was a little more challenging due to us not having the appropriate carbs/proteins on hand to fuel ourselves.
The nice thing about running another half is that it refreshes my mindset for my weight loss plan. It was my first half a year ago that helped me start to think long term about losing weight. You have to have patience to complete a half marathon and you have to have patience to reach your ideal weight.
I’ve been thinking about that a lot today because my weight has stayed stubbornly high over the last week. It’s so easy during times like this to throw everything away and let bad habits take over. Instead I’m forcing myself to sit back, take a deep breath, and re-evaluate.
I know I still haven’t been consistent with my plan. It’s challenging to stick to pieces of it during a half marathon weekend. However, I have not seen an increase in weight, which means I’m at least staying steady on my overall goals. Now, this week, I need to focus on staying consistent and planning ahead. Next week will be a crazy week of travel, which means it will be easy to slip up. Good plans will help me stay on track for the long journey I have ahead of me!
