Thirteen days ago I wrote a post celebrating a big milestone I’d hit with one of my weight loss bucket list items. You see, back in January my husband and I challenged each other to complete 400 hours of activity by the end of the year. I crossed the first 100 hour threshold about 2 weeks ago and couldn’t have been more excited!
Those of you who read that post will recall that I challenged myself to complete an additional 25 hours by today, in an attempt to get caught up with where I should be in the challenge. Well, I’m excited to report that I finished my 25th hour this morning! Hooray!
Let me tell you, these 25 hours were difficult! In order to complete them I had to do close to 2 hours of activity almost every day. On weekend days, I did several 3+ hour workouts to help compensate for days when I couldn’t get those 2 hours in. In addition to being tired from that, I started running out of workouts to do! Every day, I try to mix up my activity to avoid a plateau. That’s a lot easier said than done in a situation like this.
At the end of the day, though, it was worth it. It’s so nice to see progress toward my goal! I have a history of giving up when it comes to difficult workout plans so im pretty excited that I saw this through. 🙂
Now, I’m going to give myself a small break and re-evaluate my next plan of action. When I made the 25-hour goal I also said I wanted to complete an additional 50 hours by the end of July. I might need a day or so to think if I want to stick with that. I want to make sure I don’t burn myself out on working out and right now that seems like a reasonable possibility.
I’ll certainly provide an update once I’ve decided. In the meantime, I fully intend to sleep in tomorrow instead of working out! 😉
